Early Absentee Voting Begins June 23, 2026
Early absentee voting for voters requesting a ballot by mail or voting absentee with an approved excuse begins Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
Missouri law allows absentee voting for voters who meet one of the following qualifications:
- Absence from the jurisdiction on Election Day
- Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including caring for a person who is incapacitated or confined and resides at the same address
- Religious belief or practice
- Employment as an election authority, first responder, healthcare worker, or law enforcement officer working on Election Day
- Incarceration while retaining all voting qualifications
- Certified participation in the Address Confidentiality Program due to safety concerns
- No-Excuse Absentee Voting Begins July 21, 2026
Beginning Tuesday, July 21, 2026, any registered voter may vote absentee in person without providing an excuse or reason.

CHANGED VOTER REQUIREMENTS:
Statute 115.427 – Voters must show a photo ID, defined only as a non-expired Missouri driver’s license, non-expired or non-expiring Missouri non-driver’s license, or document that contains the voter’s name (which matches the voter registration, photograph, expiration date (and it’s not expired or expired after the date of the most recent general election), and the document was issued by the United States or state of Missouri or military ID.
